Rose Group:
Brand Development

This micro-site has been built to present the options available to Rose regarding colour-pallets, fonts and styling and includes use-case examples to help visualise what things could look like.

Colours

As you are aware, there is a general lack of consistency in the colours used by Rose. This extends cross-brand and across channels and suppliers within individual brands.

Selecting a colour pallet is fundamental to developing the Rose brand assets and guidelines; to give a complete picture I have set out the legacy colours and colours in use before putting forward the colour theory adopted for a set of recommendations for brand colour pallets.

Objectives:

  1. Decide upon the primary colours for each brand
  2. Based on the selected primary, develop a set of supporting/accent colours for each brand.
  3. To support the selected primary and accent colours for each brand, develop a set of core colours that can be used across all brands.
  4. Ensure that there is a synergy across all colours
  5. Ensure all colours are fully defined so that they can be used across RGB, CYMK and spot-colour printing processes and online.

Colours Currently in Use

From what I can ascertain from the artwork provided, these are the most consistently used primary colours used across your print materials.

Note:

Some colours had not been fully defined across all the colour-spaces. In these instances, I have looked up the most closely matching colours to fill in the gaps.

  1. Building Supplies – Blue: defined by Lowman Miller Associates
  2. Aggregates – Yellow: defined by Brave Creative (same as Lowman Miller Associates)

Brand Colours

Colour Theory

The Recycling & Skip Hire and Supporting Colours pallets shown below were developed using the Adobe Colour Wheel combining analogous and shade colour theories.

Using the primary colours specified by Lowman Miller Associates as a baseline, this approach was adopted for the Aggregates and Pattrick & Thompsons and pallets shown below.

The Building Supplies pallet combines the Lowman Miller Associates primary blue and accent colours introduced by Cocktail Marketing who appear to have adopted a similar approach to colour theory. As a result, I believe the Building Supplies pallet sits quite comfortably alongside the other brand pallets.

Recycling & Skip Hire

These are the colours used on the Recycling & Skip Hire website which include the new Primary colour and accompanying accent colours.

Primary

Pantone: 2427 C
rgb: (6,89,29)
cmyk: (93,0,67,65)
HEX: #06591D

Accent I

rgb: (8,152,48)
cmyk: (95,0,68,40)
hex: #089931

Accent II

rgb: (12,201,64)
cmyk: (94,0,68,21)
hex: #0CC940

Supporting Colours

This is the supporting colour pallet used on the Recycling & Skip Hire website.

Consideration

Whilst these colours can be fined tuned (and added to if required), I would suggest a pallet such as this be adopted to provide consistency and a synergy across web, promotional and print channels for all brands.

Default Font Colour

Pantone: P 179-15 C
rgb: (57,57,57)
cmyk: (0,0,0,78)

rgb: (255,255,255)
cmyk: (0,0,0,0)
HEX: #FFFFFF

Info-Panel Background Colour

rgb: (240,240,240)
cmyk: (0,0,0,6)
HEX: #F0F0F0

HEX: #FFBF0F

Recycling Hightlight Colour

rgb: (125,224,71)
cmyk: (44,0,68,12)
HEX: #7EE048

Restricted / VE(-) highlight & Font Colour

rgb: (179,12,12)
cmyk: (0,93,93,30)
Hex: #B30C0C

Accepted / VE(+) highlight & Font Colour

rgb: (8,152,48)
cmyk: (95,0,68,40)
hex: #089931

Hyperlink Font Colour

rgb: (102,217,255)
cmyk: (60,15,0,0)
hex: #66D9FF

Notes:

All text on a white backgroud this webpage uses the Default Font Colour (HEX: #393939).

The rational for this choice is that using Black (HEX: #000000) on a white background creates a much higher contrast than any of your current colour pallet. I recommend adopting the same default font colour for print materials using the Pantone, RGB and CMYK values as required.

Building Supplies

Suggested Pallet

This pallet combines the Lowman Miller Associates primary blue with the accent colours specified by Cocktail Marketing.
